Concept Description
College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving® is more than a franchise opportunity with strong financial potential — it is one of North America’s most recognized moving and junk removal franchise systems. Over the past 20+ years, the company has built scalable systems, centralized support infrastructure, and a purpose-driven culture designed to help franchise owners grow leadership-driven businesses. Today, the system includes 200+ markets across the U.S. and Canada, 370+ operating zones, and 350,000+ jobs booked annually through its centralized booking systems.
College HUNKS continues to receive recognition from major franchise and entrepreneurial organizations, including Entrepreneur Franchise 500, Franchise Business Review Hall of Fame, Franchise Times Top 400, and Inc. 5000 recognition. The company has also been featured in major media outlets including Undercover Boss, Shark Tank, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, Oprah, and The New York Times.
Anyone visiting the World Headquarters in Tampa, Florida quickly notices that the organization is built around culture, leadership development, and people-first values. The company’s mission, “Move the World,” extends far beyond moving and junk removal services. Many franchise owners and employees describe the business as a leadership development organization disguised as a moving company.
The organization operates around four core values that guide decision-making, culture, customer experience, and franchise growth:
- Building Leaders
- Always Branding
- Creating a Fun, Safe, Winning Team
- Listen, Fulfill & Delight
College HUNKS operates in two highly synergistic service industries:
- Junk Removal — helping customers remove unwanted items responsibly
- Moving Services — helping customers relocate the items they want to keep
In addition to moving and junk removal, franchise owners may generate additional revenue through labor services, packing and unpacking, commercial services, donation pickups, and moving supplies. The dual-service platform creates multiple revenue streams while increasing cross-selling opportunities and customer lifetime value.
The company positions itself as highly resistant to disruption because the services remain localized, labor-driven, and relationship-based. Moving and junk removal require physical execution, customer trust, and real-time service that cannot easily be automated or outsourced.
College HUNKS is designed as a full-service, one-stop solution for moving, junk removal, labor, and related services. This operational synergy allows franchise owners to maximize efficiency, increase average transaction size, and create a more seamless customer experience.
Customers also appreciate the company’s environmental focus. The system donates or recycles up to 70% of everything hauled, helping give unwanted items a second life whenever possible.

Testimonials
I was looking for over a year and considered over 100 different business opportunities. There were many factors that lead to my decision to purchase the franchise. First of all, it had to have great income potential. I had a very good corporate job that was paying very well. I was not looking to just replace my current income, but transition into becoming an entrepreneur and work “on my business” and “not in my business”. Another reason I chose College HUNKS was due to the company’s purpose and core values. We believe strongly in helping others and making positive contributions to society. I was also looking for companies that had a track record of success and a playbook that I could execute and expect to be successful. This was confirmed when I connected with franchise owners throughout the brand. After doing my homework, I felt very comfortable that I would be successful. I also liked that College HUNKS was very transparent within the FDD and included very detailed information regarding the financials of the business. Finally, this business model is recession proof, COVID proof, political party proof and technology proof.
-Scott Leffel, Carrollton, TX
Franchise owner Ricky J. Scott, Jr. will lead the Columbus College HUNKS team in serving the city’s neighboring areas with helpful, high-quality moving and junk removal solutions. Prior to joining College HUNKS, Scott worked approximately 20 years in the financial and insurance industries. During this time, he led large-scale process reengineering initiatives, financial management services, and financial reporting. His background is in Accounting, Masters of Business Administration, Six Sigma and Project Management, and he operates a successful vending company.
“In reviewing College HUNKS, I chose the brand because of the support they provide their franchisees, the fun culture and the core values,” said Ricky J. Scott, Jr., Owner of the Columbus College HUNKS. “I hope to create a location that I can eventually pass on to my children to set them up for long-standing financial independence.”

I wanted to challenge myself to create a successful business, focus on giving back to the community by building leaders, and foster a better future for my family. Owning my own business gives me the opportunity for complete operational oversight, which is a level of control that is hard to achieve when working for someone else. The discovery process with the College HUNKS franchise reaffirmed our decision, their core values are laser-focused on helping owners make a positive impact on the local community. College HUNKS have thought of everything a new entrepreneur needs to scale their business sustainably.

Before joining College Hunks, we looked at 10 other franchises, all of which were in the service industry. We decided on College Hunks because of the services, culture and support. We wanted a service line that was essential to our customers and would connect us to the local community. We have truly enjoyed our franchise business coaches. They have been pivotal in helping us learn the business and set our benchmarks. They genuinely care and want to see us succeed.
-Amy Wetzel, Milwaukee, WI
—————-
You hear from other owners and franchise coaches at College Hunks to “follow the playbook”. That’s exactly what I wanted, a playbook that’s proven and works. I trusted that and that’s what makes it so enjoyable, to be able to compare your proforma and business plan to actual results and meet or exceed nearly every goal. And I’m not just talking the monetary part of it. College Hunks is a culture orientated company, a culture I wanted to experience in a business that I own. Part of the playbook is to teach and live our four core values; Building Leaders, Fun Enthusiastic Team Environment, Listen Fulfill Delight, and Always Branding. That we’ve done and the culture we have has made my first year even that much more rewarding.

History:
College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving® began with two college friends, a beat-up cargo van, and a simple realization: people desperately needed help moving and getting rid of unwanted items, but the experience was often inconsistent, unprofessional, and frustrating. In 2003, co-founders Omar Soliman and Nick Friedman launched the business as a summer side hustle while attending college. Omar’s mother owned a furniture store, and customers frequently needed help hauling away old furniture after new purchases were delivered. Seeing an opportunity in a fragmented industry, the two began hauling junk with borrowed equipment and relentless hustle.
What started as a small local operation quickly evolved into something much bigger. Omar later entered the concept into a University of Miami entrepreneurship competition and won, validating the founders’ belief that the business could scale nationally. By 2005, College HUNKS officially launched as a full-time business focused on professionalism, customer service, leadership development, and operational systems. In 2007, College HUNKS became the first franchised moving and junk removal company in the United States.
Today, College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving® has grown into one of North America’s largest moving and junk removal franchise systems with:
• 156+ sold franchise partners
• 154+ active franchise partners
• 370+ operating territories
• 200+ markets across the U.S. & Canada
• 350,000+ jobs booked annually through the centralized Sales & Loyalty Center (SLC)
• 250+ home office support employees
• 20+ years of operational refinement and brand development
The company combines two synergistic service businesses under one franchise platform:
• Junk Removal Services
• Moving Services
Additional revenue streams include:
• Packing & unpacking services
• Labor services
• Commercial services
• Donation pickups
• National account opportunities
• Long-distance and military move initiatives currently in development
One of the company’s greatest competitive advantages is its centralized Sales & Loyalty Center (SLC), an in-house booking and customer service operation that supports franchise partners across the system. The SLC currently books more than 350,000 jobs annually and includes more than 200 trained booking agents helping franchise owners with lead conversion, scheduling, customer follow-up, and service support.
The College HUNKS brand was intentionally built around culture, leadership, and customer experience. The acronym H.U.N.K.S. stands for:
• Honest
• Uniformed
• Nice
• Knowledgeable
• Service
The company mission, “Move the World,” reflects its focus on leadership development, community impact, and building purpose-driven businesses rather than simply operating trucks. Franchise partners are supported through:
• Dedicated Franchise Business Coaches
• Marketing Coaches
• Operations Playbooks
• CRM & Technology Infrastructure
• National Account Partnerships
• Recruiting & Training Systems
• Ongoing Performance Coaching
• HUNKOLOGY Learning Management System
The brand has also built strong national recognition through major media appearances and cultural relevance, including exposure on:
• Shark Tank
• Undercover Boss
• Oprah
• CNBC
• FOX Business
• Numerous entrepreneurship podcasts and national media platforms
College HUNKS continues to receive national recognition for growth, culture, franchisee satisfaction, and operational performance, including:
• Franchise Times – 2026 Top Junk Removal Franchise
• Franchise Times – 2026 Top 400 Franchises
• Entrepreneur Magazine – 2025 Top Franchise for Veterans
• Entrepreneur Magazine – Top 500 Franchise Hall of Fame (15+ Years)
• Entrepreneur Magazine – Fastest Growing Franchise Recognition
• Franchise Business Review – Hall of Fame
• Franchise Business Review – Top Franchises for Women
• INC. 5000 – Multiple Franchise Locations Recognized Among America’s Fastest Growing Companies
The company has also remained committed to giving back. Approximately 70% of the items collected are donated or recycled, and College HUNKS donates two meals to food-insecure families for every completed job through its charitable partnerships.
What truly separates College HUNKS is that it positions franchise ownership as a leadership and management business—not simply a moving company. Franchise partners build teams, develop culture, scale operations, and grow multi-truck, multi-territory businesses backed by a nationally recognized brand and a mature operational infrastructure refined over two decades.
