Since 1969 Decorating Den Interiors has been making the world more beautiful one room at a time throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Whether our clients’ enjoy surrounding themselves with time honored traditional design, or inspired, modern, cutting edge couture; it’s our ultimate goal to design spaces that reflect their individual taste and lifestyle.

We make the whole process of interior design easy and fun for our clients. We have thousands of samples of top quality home furnishings products from custom draperies, blinds, shades, furniture, bedding, lighting, accessories, artwork, floor covering and wall covering from which to choose.

And the best part, we bring our design ideas and samples to the most convenient showroom in the world – the clients’ home or office. That way we can select the colors and textures in the comfort of the clients’ own environment of lighting, space and lifestyle right there to guide our ultimate design and product decisions.

History:

Over 50 years ago, our company was founded by a fabric salesman named Steve Bursten.  He had the idea that Interior Decorating & Residential Design should be affordable and convenient. Decorating Den Interiors became one of the first Shop at Home companies in the U.S. and Canada. Over the years, the company grew from a Custom Window Treatment and Blinds company to offering everything for the home – Window Treatments with Custom Draperies & Blinds, Furniture of all kinds, Wall and Floorcoverings, Accessories, Lighting, Custom Closets and more!

Discount Description: DDSI is a member of the International Franchise Association (“IFA”) and participates in the IFA’s VetFran Program. Under our Educational Credit Program, we offer applicants with a 2- or 4- year degree in interior design or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning a reduced Initial Franchise Fee of $34,900. Length of Training: 45 Day Self study /2 Weeks Classroom/11 Weekly Modules (on-line) begins your continuing education.

Training Description:

Our training program is comprehensive.  New franchisees come to us with various levels of design schooling and experience.  We cannot teach Talent which is the key so we test for it.

Training starts with Ready-Set-Go which is a period of self study while setting up the business.  Every Franchisee is assigned a Field Mentor to assist them prepare for the business.  Mentors are there to help for the entire term of the franchise.

Two week intensive classroom training is held at our Lifestyle University which is at our H.Q. in Maryland.

Once Franchisees graduate from the intensive training, they are ready to Launch the business.  For 11 weeks, they will learn more in-depth on all the major facets of the business.  This is done from home and mostly on-line for several hours per week.

Training continues and does not end.  This is done via webinars, monthly meetings, audio recordings, classes available 24/7 from our intranet system, as well as custom learning experiences held in the furniture capital of the world – High Point, NC.   The first several days of our annual conference is dedicated to workshops so our decorators and designers are well trained and up on all the latest design trends.
