The Dryer Vent Wizard Story

The founder of the Mr. Handyman franchise founded the Dryer Vent Wizard franchise system in 2004 while living in the Boston area. As a handyman, he frequently encountered homeowners having issues with their dryer vent systems that required an “urgent response.” These issues resulted from dryer vent lint accumulation, blockages, disrepair, or improper venting configurations. The concept originated when he realized the need for a dryer vent specialist.

Within a few short years, the concept expanded into a successful franchise specializing in dryer fire prevention and energy savings through dryer vent cleaning, inspection, repair, replacement, alterations, and maintenance for single and multi-family residential and commercial entities.

In 2018, the then Vice President, Jason Kapica, was named President and has since been tasked with continuing the growth of Dryer Vent Wizard’s consumer sales and franchise numbers. Jason has been with DVW since 2012, joining the company to accelerate franchise growth. In 2020, Dryer Vent Wizard was acquired by Neighborly, a home service brand, becoming the newest addition to the home-service-focused franchise group. Neighborly has over 5,000 franchise owners and is one of the world’s largest and most trusted home services companies.

Currently, Dryer Vent Wizard has over 145  locally owned and operated franchise locations servicing communities throughout the United States and Canada!

These franchise locations, although independently operated, receive national support from our Dryer Vent Wizard headquarters, and Neighborly Brand headquarters in Dallas, Texas.

Discount Description: As a member of the International Franchise Association (“IFA”), we participate in the IFA’s VetFran Program.
