Concept Description
Our Advantage
Right at Home was founded in 1995 by Allen Hager in Omaha, Nebraska. Unlike any other home care franchisor, Allen’s background was in hospital administration. He witnessed older patients check out of the hospital, struggle with the recovery process while at home, and then be readmitted to the hospital. Seeing the need, he created a way to provide ongoing assistance for clients who are aging or have disabilities in the comfort of their homes. After spending five years fine-tuning the business model, the Right at Home franchise was born!
Success with Significance®
People become Right at Home Franchise Owners after they’ve found success in their current career but are now looking to apply their skills in a more meaningful way. This is what we call Success with Significance®, and it is the common theme among all of our Franchise Owners.
Your prospect doesn’t need previous business ownership or home care industry experience. With Right at Home, they will leverage their passion for serving others with our highly acclaimed training and support to create a business that makes a remarkable impact on their local community.
Unparalleled Support
Our franchisees come from many walks of life. Some have previous healthcare experience, but the majority do not. Nevertheless, when they made the decision to join the Right at Home family, they instantly received the benefits of a powerful international brand and were backed by first-class training, support, and marketing.
As a new owner, your prospect will become part of a system that has over 30 years of brand equity. That means clients, caregivers, and referral sources are aware of Right at Home and recognize the company as a quality organization. They trust their senior loved ones and patients to our care and have become loyal advocates.
That’s a great position to be in!
But, before they open their doors, there’s some work to be done. They’ll visit Right at Home’s global headquarters in Omaha, NE, to attend our highly-rated training program. This course is designed to familiarize them with all aspects of the business. They’ll hear from experts throughout the organization whose goal is to provide you with a solid foundation so they can hit the ground running when they open their business.
Timeline and Process to Become a Franchise Owner
It typically takes 30-60 days for us to complete our research on each other. During this time, we want to get to know your prospect as a person – their background, their accomplishments, and how business ownership will help them reach their goals. We also give them the opportunity to get to know us as individuals and as a company, and to get answers about everything they need to know prior to moving forward with us.

History:
One of the things that sets Right at Home apart from its competitors is our story. Allen Hager, a former hospital administrator, founded Right at Home after seeing a gap in care within the US healthcare system. Patients were sent home from the hospital because the medical portion of their care was complete, but many of them – especially seniors – weren’t able to care for themselves once they returned home live independently in their home. As a result, some of them would come back to the hospital, only to repeat the process all over again. Other senior care systems started with a single instance of an experience with a family member who needed care – Right at Home’s foundation is based on the experience of a former hospital administrator.
In addition, before starting the business Allen worked as a caregiver to learn about the business on the front lines. What he learned as a peer to the other caregivers goes way beyond what he would have learned as their boss or the owner of the company. Learnings from that experience can still be found in our business model today, especially in our caregiver recognition programs.
Fast forward to today, and Right at Home has become one of the largest and most recognized senior care brands in the marketplace. We are viewed as a thought leader, and we collaborate with some of the biggest brands in the world to improve the care experience for seniors. As the US healthcare system and demographics continue to fuel demand for our business, Right at Home is well-positioned to take care of seniors in their preferred location – Right at Home.
