Concept Description
Sourdough & Co. stands apart in the crowded fast-casual landscape by delivering restaurant-quality food in a streamlined, efficient format. The brand’s cornerstone is its signature San Francisco-style sourdough bread—made fresh daily and rooted in a traditional artisan baking heritage. This commitment to quality extends across the entire menu, featuring thinly sliced premium meats, artisan cheeses, fresh-cut vegetables, gourmet salads, and warm savory soups including their renowned New England Clam Chowder served in sourdough bread bowls.
Founded in 2015 by Steve Presson in El Dorado Hills, California, Sourdough & Co. was built with a clear mission: provide an exceptional dining experience through quality ingredients, clean environments, and healthier options that customers can trust. All menu items are natural, preservative-free, and crafted for both flavor and wellness. The brand began franchising in 2021 and has expanded to over 80 locations across multiple states.
The operational model is designed for simplicity and efficiency. Unlike many restaurant concepts, Sourdough & Co. requires no fryers, grills, or complicated kitchen equipment—minimizing waste, reducing complexity, and allowing for lean labor structures. The brand operates on convenient hours, supporting both franchisee quality of life and easier staffing. Multiple revenue streams including catering services, a mobile loyalty program, third-party delivery partnerships, and B2B opportunities provide diversified income channels for owners.
Sourdough & Co. franchisees benefit from comprehensive support including 14 days of headquarters training, 7 days of onsite training at an established location and their own store, plus grand opening support. National supply chain partnerships ensure consistent product quality and simplified ordering. Ongoing resources include operational manuals, digital marketing assistance, POS technology, employee scheduling tools, and a centralized franchisee hub for training and updates.
Sourdough & Co. operates a streamlined, efficient format in the fast-casual segment.
