History:
From a young age, Toastique’s Founder, Brianna Keefe, displayed a passion for wellness and fitness, along with a dream of one day owning a café dedicated to healthy eating. Brianna began experimenting with making fresh smoothies and juices at home during high school. In college, as a busy D1 athlete and Restaurant Hospitality major, Brianna found herself in
need of a quick, easy snack that would provide the perfect combination of carbs, protein, and healthy fats in a grab-and-go form. The result? Delicious gourmet toast creations that she could customize with a variety of all-natural ingredients. Brianna’s toast masterpieces inspired the idea of a café that would combine her delicious, healthy, on-the-go toasts with the
already-proven concept of smoothies and cold-pressed juices. With her boyfriend, commercial construction expert Kyle Izett, leading the design and construction process, Brianna was able to complete the buildout of the first Toastique café in just 40 days!
Our flagship Toastique, located in Washington, D.C.’s Wharf district, opened in 2018 to overwhelmingly positive feedback, generating over $1 million in sales in its first year with zero dollars spent on marketing. This mind-blowing success prompted Brianna and Kyle to open a second location in Alexandria, VA in 2019, then a third in the Navy Yard district in Washington, D.C. during the summer of 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to quickly and successfully pivot our model, implementing third-party delivery options and online ordering with great success-a strategy that has allowed our locations to remain open, profitable, and popular. After endless requests to expand, we concluded that Toastique is too good to keep confined to the Northeast and decided to begin franchising across the country! We look forward to this exciting new chapter and can’t wait to meet the Franchise Owners who want to bring the wholesome and delicious Toastique experience to members of their communities.
